Notes From Abroad: Mycenae

The day after we scaled Acrocorinth, we paid an obligatory visit to Mycenae.  I always think of Agamemnon looking out over his vast lands; the scenery has probably changed very little in the last 3000 years (and apparently I make the same observation to myself and others EVERY TIME). We took another picture at the Treasury of Atreus with a different set of children.  We'll reenact it in ten years, too.

All of our children have studied versions of The Iliad and The Odyssey, but it's difficult to picture how the palaces would have looked from the ruins remaining.  We did our best!
