Holidays: St. Nicholas Day

This holiday falls under the auspices of both Greece and Orthodoxy, and it's something we celebrate both here and in the US.  The kids leave their shoes out at night, and St. Nicholas leaves them chocolate money(based upon this story)!   We try to read a story about St. Nicholas the night before and emphasize his holiness and generosity.  St. Nicholas Day also happens to be the anniversary of my and B's reception into the Orthodox Church, so we have much to celebrate!

B took these pictures early this morning.  Looks like St. Nicholas brought chocolate in rather large denominations this year! Maybe the kids will give me a loan?
